Why This Program

Keep the gains. Play the season.

Most players do one of two things in-season: they stop lifting and lose everything they built, or they keep hammering their off-season program and fry themselves by June. Neither works. This is the third option.

01 · Maintain

Hold the strength.

Two focused sessions a week is enough to hold 90%+ of your off-season strength. Less time, minimum-effective-dose loading, no wasted volume.

02 · Protect

Arm + body care.

Arm-care circuits, mobility, and recovery work built into every week. Keeps the arm feeling fresh and the body playing through the grind.

03 · Perform

Stay explosive.

Speed-strength and rotational power maintained through short, high-quality outputs. You come to the box or the mound feeling athletic, not drained.

Who This Is For

Is In-Season Power right for you?

Built for you if:

  • You're actively in your competitive season (spring, summer, or fall ball)
  • You built serious strength / power in the off-season and want to keep it
  • You've noticed you fade in the back half of your season
  • You have 2 hours a week for the gym — that's the whole ask
  • You want to finish the season stronger than you started it
Season Breakdown

Session A

Lower + Power

45–60 min. Heavy compound lift for maintenance strength, sprint / jump work for rate of force, plus targeted arm care + mobility.

Session B

Upper + Rotation

45–60 min. Upper-body maintenance work + rotational power (med-ball throws or cable rotation). Arm care circuit closes the day.

Weekly

Recovery + Care

Daily mobility routine, sleep + hydration targets, and a travel / game-day protocol for when you're on the road and can't hit the gym.

FAQ

Common questions.

When during the season should I start this?

Day one. The whole point is protecting the strength and power you built in the off-season, and the sooner you start, the more you hold. Even if you're already 4 weeks into the season, start now — you'll still hold more than doing nothing.

Won't lifting during the season hurt my play?

Under-loading hurts your play. So does over-loading. The dose in this program is specifically 2 sessions a week of maintenance work — enough to hold strength, not so much you drain recovery from the actual games.

What if I have a heavy weekend series or a travel week?

Skip a session. Full permission. The program includes a travel / short-week protocol showing what to prioritize when you only have 30 minutes or when you're on the road. Missing a week doesn't undo the program.

What equipment do I need?

Gym access with barbells, dumbbells, rack, cables. Med balls (6, 8, 10 lb) for rotational work. Mobility bands for the arm-care circuits.

Can I run this on top of my team's lifting?

Only if your team's in-season program is minimal (once a week, low volume). Otherwise you'll stack conflict — talk to your S&C coach. This is designed as a standalone in-season plan for players whose teams don't provide one.

How is this different from the SummersMethod+ subscription?

In-Season Power is the standalone version of what SM+ subscribers get automatically when their calendar hits their season. If you want just the in-season block as a one-time purchase, buy this. If you want year-round programming that switches phases with your season, join SM+.
