The in-season strength + power maintenance program built for baseball. Keep the off-season gains, protect the arm, stay explosive through August — without training yourself into the ground while you're playing.
Most players do one of two things in-season: they stop lifting and lose everything they built, or they keep hammering their off-season program and fry themselves by June. Neither works. This is the third option.
Two focused sessions a week is enough to hold 90%+ of your off-season strength. Less time, minimum-effective-dose loading, no wasted volume.
Arm-care circuits, mobility, and recovery work built into every week. Keeps the arm feeling fresh and the body playing through the grind.
Speed-strength and rotational power maintained through short, high-quality outputs. You come to the box or the mound feeling athletic, not drained.
45–60 min. Heavy compound lift for maintenance strength, sprint / jump work for rate of force, plus targeted arm care + mobility.
45–60 min. Upper-body maintenance work + rotational power (med-ball throws or cable rotation). Arm care circuit closes the day.
Daily mobility routine, sleep + hydration targets, and a travel / game-day protocol for when you're on the road and can't hit the gym.
Day one. The whole point is protecting the strength and power you built in the off-season, and the sooner you start, the more you hold. Even if you're already 4 weeks into the season, start now — you'll still hold more than doing nothing.
Under-loading hurts your play. So does over-loading. The dose in this program is specifically 2 sessions a week of maintenance work — enough to hold strength, not so much you drain recovery from the actual games.
Skip a session. Full permission. The program includes a travel / short-week protocol showing what to prioritize when you only have 30 minutes or when you're on the road. Missing a week doesn't undo the program.
Gym access with barbells, dumbbells, rack, cables. Med balls (6, 8, 10 lb) for rotational work. Mobility bands for the arm-care circuits.
Only if your team's in-season program is minimal (once a week, low volume). Otherwise you'll stack conflict — talk to your S&C coach. This is designed as a standalone in-season plan for players whose teams don't provide one.
